









Parking Away from Cars
Whenever you go out to the store, it may be tempting to park at the front of the parking lot with everyone else. However, it is better to park at the back of the parking lot where the cars are spread further out from each other. Whenever your car is parked closely with other cars, the odds of your vehicle receiving door dings and scratches from other drivers. You should take the time to park in a place that will keep your vehicle protected from scratches, and the back of the parking lot is often just the right place.
Keeping Stuff Off the Paint
Whenever you are walking next to your car, you should make sure that nothing you are wearing or holding is touching rubbing up against the paint. Whenever you drag something up against the paint no matter how soft it is, you run the risk of damaging your paint. Most materials are not made to be safe to be put on paint, so you should keep everything you can off the side of your car. Things like zippers can easily scratch your car's paint and leave large scratch marks across the side of your car. To keep your car out of the auto paint shop, you should make sure that you keep your belongings off the side of your car.
Do Not Park Under Low Hanging Trees
If you park under trees with low hanging branches, you are putting your vehicle at risk of being scratched. Your car will be easily scratched when parking in the way of trees. The twigs on a tree will act like sandpaper up against your vehicle, meaning time in the body shop for your car and large expenses for you. Anytime you notice low hanging branches in a parking spot you are approaching, you should change course and find a new parking spot
Clean Your Car Regularly
You should clean your car on a regular basis to clean any bird droppings or tree sap off of your car. When you leave either of these things on your car for extended periods of time, they will begin to eat through your paint. Leaving these things on your car can spell disaster for your car’s paint job, leaving it in the paint auto shop. You should take time to clean your car regularly, as it will both help your car look fresh and protect it from paint damage.
Do Not Use Old/Dirty Towels on Your Car
Do not ever use an old or dirty towel on your car’s paint. Doing this will cover your car in scratches. Towels that have been overused will have built up debris, which will then be wiped up against the side of your car. Debris being wiped up against the side of your car will leave scratches, so you should never use an old or dirty towel on your car’s paint. If you notice dirty spots on your towels after they have been cleaned, it is time to get a replacement.
Do Not Tailgate
If you are driving too closely to other cars, you will increase the odds of road debris being thrown up into your car. If road debris is thrown up into your car, it will most likely leave scratches across your paint. It is better to avoid driving too closely to other vehicles on the road, as it will help to protect your vehicle from scratches and from getting into a car accident. Make sure that you do not tailgate other vehicles and keep your vehicle protected.
